The Ultor Corporation was the most powerful and influential company in the city of Stilwater, having rapidly expanded from its origins as Ultor Unlimited, a major clothing and lifestyle brand, into a vast conglomerate with interests in real estate, utilities, pharmaceuticals, food production, telecommunications, casinos, weapons and even media.
Much of the company's growth could be attributed to the leadership of Dane Vogel, who ascended from Director of Special Projects to chairman during his short time with the company, and his leadership cemented Ultor as the dominant corporate force in the city. The company's relentless expansion and technological advancements eventually led it into the field of space travel, with Ultor establishing itself as the leading corporate power on the Red Planet by 2050, where it became an unchallenged industrial juggernaut in interstellar mining.
