Overview[]

Teens eating at Pete's while drinking Pop Tate's shakes
Pete's Pizza Palace is a small eatery in the town of Riverdale's business district managed by chef Pete and located right across the street from its rival business, Pop Tate's Chocklit Shoppe, with both restaurants being quite popular with local teens.
Because of their close proximity to one another, both Pete's and Pop's have trouble keeping their teenage customers from bringing food in from their rival's business, with teens bringing in shakes from Pop's into Pete's, or teens bringing pizza from Pete's into Pop's, causing both business owners to lose profits, making them regret opening businesses that catered to teens.
Pete's was also very popular with the local eating machine, Jughead Jones who would often be tempted by alluring scent of pizza coming from Pete's and once even got a job at Pete's for a brief period.

Owner[]

Proprietor of Pete's Pizza Palace, Pete with the Riverdale Rat Pack
Pete is the chef and owner of his namesake pizza palace and a shrewd businessman.
Pete always greeted his teen customers warmly and did his best to keep them satisfied with his tasty pizzas and soda fountain. However, Pete was still a businessman first and foremost, and would not tolerate that his customers bring in outside food into his restaurant, but as was the case with his rival Pop Tate, Pete ultimately admitted defeat on that front knowing that it was impossible to reason with teenagers.
As with Pop Tate, Pete was also a bit greedy, and was not above exploiting his employees, particularly Jughead, just to increase his profits, gladly hiring Jughead knowing full well that the gluttonous teen couldn't resist the temptation of food and would buy extra pizzas from him even during work hours, nearly putting the boy in debt. This naturally led to a confrontation between Pete and Jughead's best friend Archie, who pleaded with Pete to fire Jughead for his own good, but Pete refused. This naturally forced Archie to take drastic measures by playing a "harmless" baseball game in front of Pete's restaurant which threatened to break his window, forcing Pete to fire Jughead, thus freeing him from any additional pizza debt.
Delivery Boy (former)[]

Pete's Pizza Palace delivery boy, Jughead Jones losing a battle with his stomach
Jughead Jones, the laziest and most gluttonous teen in town once briefly served as the delivery boy for Pete's Pizza Palace but under very questionable arrangements.
Although a semi-regular customer at Pete's, Jughead once tried to apply for a job there following a mandate from his parents to get a job or else, but unfortunately for Jughead, Archie discouraged him, knowing that Jughead would probably be fired for eating on the job.
Later on though, Jughead would finally have a chance to work at Pete's after accidentally breaking Pop Tate's window, with Pete gladly giving Jughead a job as a delivery boy until the window was paid off. Although it surprised his friends that Jughead was now working, they soon discovered that Jughead was now ordering additional pizzas for himself before going out on a delivery due to avoid being tempted into eating his delivery, with Jughead's best friend Archie eventually realizing that this was putting Jughead in massive debt. To help Jughead, Archie personally went to Pete to plead that he fire Jughead, unfortunately Pete would not have it, as he was actually enjoying the extra profit Jughead was netting him from not only making deliveries and buying pizzas but also from not having to pay him a cent since Jughead wound up using his entire paycheck and allowance to pay Pete off.
Fortunately, thanks to Archie's intervention, Jughead ended up being fired from Pete's but was forced to now work at Pop Tate's instead until the window could be paid off.
