The Palace Saloon (or simply "The Palace") is a tavern and cafe featured in the 1950 Dell Comics adaptation of the multimedia character The Cisco Kid by O. Henry, having first appeared in the story "Frame-Up in Mesquite" from issue #2.
Overview[]

The saloon's bar and bartender serving bank manager, Vince Pringle
The Palace Saloon was the only known watering hole in the desert town of Mesquite located passed the Sunset Ridge, and it was considered one of the most successful businesses in town alongside the bank, even being regarded as the only place worth robbing aside from the bank, containing a safe housing over $5,000.
The saloon resembled most standard two storey saloons and would have promotions for rodeos hung up near its entrance as well as notices reminding its customers to check all guns at the office.
History[]
When the heroic caballero, the Cisco Kid paid a visit to the town of Mesquite in search for his missing sidekick Pancho, he discovered that his good friend had been framed for murder and bank theft. When a mob came to lynch poor Pancho, Cisco and Sheriff Kerr stood up for the helpless sidekick, and during the chaos, he discovered that the culprit who framed Pancho was the local crooked bank manager and gang leader, Vince Pringle in order to mask his criminal activities and remove the sheriff from office while he was at it.
To help Pancho get out of his jam, Cisco and the sheriff staged Pancho's "escape" in order to lull Vince into a false sense of security, tricking him into thinking Pancho had really escaped so that he would use him as a scapegoat for another robbery, this time at the Palace Saloon.

Pringle and his accomplice rob the Palace
That night, the trio staged a stakeout just outside the Palace Saloon awaiting the arrival of Pringle and his gang, knowing that the Palace could be his only other target in town. Once they noticed activity inside the saloon, they made their way in and overheard Pringle with his accomplice planning to flee south with the cash when the heat died down, eventually finding them in the saloon's office raiding its safe. The trio were able to catch Vince and his man off guard at gunpoint, even knocking Vince out cold and getting his accomplice to confess, thus absolving Pancho of all charges.
Trivia[]
