Mr. Bigbyte

Megabucks Intergalactic Financial Corporation (aka Megabucks Corp.) is an interstellar monopolistic corporation that dominates most of the galactic market in the far future world of the 1962 animated television series and comics of The Jetsons.

Overview[]

The Megabucks Intergalactic Financial Corporation is the largest corporation in its cosmos and considered the financial elite, with its Megabucks Group of executives being considered the ultimate high-rollers who are described as getting to play "Moonopoly" with real money, buying up other business and turning them into subsidiaries for their company. Even its founder is wealthy enough that he will practically give a small fortune away for a few ice cream sodas.

History[]

Cosmo G. Spacely of Spacely Space Sprockets, Inc. initially sought the approval of the Megabucks Group in the hopes that they would buy his company for a grand fortune and increase his own wealth and influence. However the company had little interest in Spacely Sprockets, seeing it as a puny little company that was not worth their time or money, but once Mr. Spacely showcased his new Executive Perks program to chief executive Mr. Bigbyte, which promised them the ultimate experience in luxurious executive pampering with all the creature comforts Spacely Sprockets had to offer, Mr. Bigbyte changed his tune and decided to give Spacely and his company a chance by testing out his new Executive Perks program himself. Unbeknownst to Megabucks and his team though, the Perks program was far from perfect as it easily overloaded the Spacely Sprockets' central computer and could suffer all sorts of malfunctions if pushed into overdrive.

Mr. Bigbyte's misfortune

The result of Mr. Bigbyte's faith in Spacely Sprockets

With tensions high the following day, Mr. Bigbyte and the rest of the Megabucks Group visited Spacely Sprockets for the run through of the program which initially went well, with Bigbyte enjoying much of the luxuries it had to offer, from an all-over tan to a meal of Saturnian sushi, but things quickly fell apart when Bigbyte took the controls of the program and pushed them into overdrive, causing the whole thing to go berserk and torture Mr. Bigbyte in every way possible until he was nothing but a lumpy burnt mess of a man who was immediately carried out of Spacely and swearing off ever buying Spacely Sprockets, officially cancelling any hopes of an acquisition.

Founder[]

John D. Megabucks

John D. Megabucks, founder of Megabucks Intergalactic Financial Corporation

John D. Megabucks is the founder and owner of the Megabucks Intergalactic Financial Corporation. He comes off as a cold and bitter man at first glance, but despite his attitude and vast wealth, he is a man who prefers the simple things like cream sodas and ice cream which makes him feel youthful, and he is known to be very generous to those who make him happy.

He once had a fateful encounter with Judy Jetson at Pop's Plush Planet Soda Shop where she was working at the time and where his hover car happened to break down. Mr. Megabucks was initially hesitant to go in but ordered a soda from Judy nonetheless. When he tasted the soda and experienced the diner's kind service firsthand, he became enthralled with the diner and promised to keep visiting them twice a week so long as they promised to serve him more delicious sodas, even giving both Judy and her manager Pop a year's worth of tips in advance.

Megabucks Group[]

The Megabucks Group Board of Directors are an overbearing bunch with a blowhard attitude who mostly follow the whims of their chief executive.

Chief Executive[]

Mr. Bigbyte

Mr. Bigbyte, chief executive of Megabucks Corp.

Mr. Bigbyte is the chief executive of Megabucks Corp. A wide portly man and a "bottom-line kind of guy" who is only interested in big acquisitions and values luxurious executive treatment above all else.

It was Bigbyte who Spacely initially made his sales pitch to and presented his Executive Perks program. Although skeptical at first, he became impressed by Spacely's offer completely unaware of the program's many malfunctions which ultimately proved to be a near-fatal experience for Bigbyte when he tried the program out for himself which suffice to say left him bruised, beaten, flattened, overcooked, shaken and even stirred. After surviving the horrors of the Executive Perks program, he quickly cancelled the acquisition of Spacely's company and wished nothing but bad luck upon Spacely from then on.

Executives[]

The Megabucks Group Board of Directors mostly act as lackeys to Mr. Bigbyte and remain silent throughout their appearance. They witnessed firsthand the horrors of the executive perks program on Mr. Bigbyte and tended to his injuries as soon as Spacely's machine was done putting him through the wringer.
