Marland Market is an alien marketplace located in the wilds of the planet of Midlothian. It was featured in Cluster comics.
Overview[]
The marketplace was home to various alien species, including those indigenous to the planet such as the Ranese who scavenged what they could to sell at the market. When humans from the Global Outreach Enterprise began to occupy the planet, the natives soon found themselves treated as squatters in their own homes, and were constantly abused by the employees of the company who oftenmistreated the inhabitants for their own selfish gain.
As far as the universe was concerned G.O.E. was the law on Midlothian, and labeled themselves as the true owners of the planet, categorizing the natives species as squatters or trespassers. However they allowed the market to remain for unknown reasons, and the market was used by the Ranese to sell their wares of materials stripped from terraforming towers to sell on the black market.
