Jane Butterfield Real Estate (aka Jane Butterfield's Real Estate & Travel Agency) is an annoyingly ambitious real estate agency in a small Connecticut village run by local nosey nancy, Jane Butterfield. It is featured in the 1988 horror-comedy film Beetlejuice.

Overview[]

Jane Butterfield Real Estate's sole proprietor, Jane Butterfield

The agency's sole proprietor, Jane Butterfield

Jane Butterfield's agency not only offers financially worthwhile residential opportunities in Winter River but she also sells all sorts of knickknacks, from antiques and gifts to even postcards. She also arranges vacation trips for those seeking to get out of Winter River and see the world. As part of her real estate service, Butterfield also offers interior decoration services, claiming to have even furnished the home of her late cousin Barbara Maitland and her husband Adam.

In truth though, behind Jane Butterfield's pleasant facade, she is a ruthless and opportunistic businesswoman who weirdly enough has a very sunny disposition, but true to her ambitions, she will not hesitate to take advantage of any situation to take a profit, not even hesitating to harass her cousin and her husband regularly with annoying requests to sell their home despite their unwillingness to do so. Eventually, Jane Butterfield wasted no time in selling their home not soon after they died in a tragic car accident.
