Golden Gloves Gym is a gym located in Steel City Strip District.
Overview[]
The gym was founded Wally Johnson. After he passed away his two sons Mark and David Johnson, came from Columbus, Ohio to re-open it, and turn it into a positive influence to keep youth off the street. The place offered free physical training and exercise program for all ages.
It offered weekly boxing night every Tuesday, and had plans on entering the tri-state youth boxing league in January of 1945.
History[]
David Johnson got involved in a gambling ring operated under the umbrella by Rose Construction, greed getting the better of him and seeing more money in fixed boxing matches. His older brother Mark had to get involved, donning a magic golden glove to get him out of the operation, becoming the hero Golden Glove. On the raid of Rose Construction, he was assisted by Hero By Night. However the relationship between the brothers turned sour as David felt he did not need Mark's assistance.
The two brothers though would eventually reconcile and resume their running the gym for the better of the community.
