The Bulwark Corporation is the largest pan-galactic human corporation in the Milky Way Galaxy. It was featured in "Stalag-X".
Overview[]
Bulwark made its name by being a notable technology corporation. Since the beginning of the Krael War, Bulwark's size tripled along with the number of Earth government contracts it received.
Many people worked with Bulwark, with its employees being paid very well. However the company harbored a shady operation, such as willing to use assassins to eliminate those that were a threat to its interests.
One being Anson Garbo a former Bulwark employee, who acquired intelligence regarding a conspiracy in the Krael war. He was designated to be a threat by the company and a bounty was placed on the Service. A bounty hunter named Deacon took up the bounty, tracking Garbo to the mining planet of Pondafier. Deacon who took the job originally thought that the man had stolen some company intel. When she confronted the marked man, he begged for his life, offering to pay the bounty hunter much more and even give her the intel which he claimed that the Krael were not the only ones destroying human colonies but some were in fact destroyed by Bulwark. Though the woman was too blind with greed to care about the conspiracy and simply killed and notified his death to Bulwark.
Bulwark was also involved in the defeat at Reddah 5, which was a loss to the United Commonwealth of Planets, that left only one survivor. The survivor was the commander of the military force against the Krael, and according to the official report survived due to cowardice. Though the truth of the matter was that the weapons used the soldiers were all made by Bulwark Corporation, which so conveniently failed. The survivor was accused of military incompetence and court martialed and jailed. The survivor as it so happened was the son of General Lansing, the overall military commander of the war against the Krael who was also one of the few influential people who reported to the President of the Commonwealth.
Later it was deemed by either Lansing or associates of Bulwark that Lansing's son required another trial, and was to be taken to Earth aboard the prison ship, UMC Mary Aberdeen. It was suspected assassins sent by Bulwark were sent to intercept the ship to eliminate the general's son to keep him quiet on the corporation's involvement in the massacre at Reddah 5. However Bulwark's assassins failed to reach the prisoner as the Mary Aberdeen was attacked by a Krael fleet. All survivors were captured, including the general's son, who took the alias of Joe Human to confound the Krael and possible human assassins.
By chance he was brought to Pondafier where Deacon was still operating, as the Krael had conquered the planet. Through the Service, she found that there was a considerable bounty of Joe Human, and waited for an opportune time to kill the marked man while he was a prisoner in Stalag-X.
Bulwark continued to act as the Commonwealth technology supplier, and even provided intel on Krael military movements. However their intel was flawed which led the Earth Command forces into a trap, but thankfully was averted by the leadership of General Lansing.
Though after seeing him overcome multiple odds at the prison camp and assisting him the human prisoners in staging a revolt against the Krael, Deacon began to question her motives to collect his bounty. After Joe Human remained at the camp whilst the other humans were evacuated by the Earth Command soldiers raiding the planet, Deacon learned the truth of Joe's past and the crime of Bulwark. Upon realizing that Bulwark was using her, she forfeited the bounty, but remained on Pondafier to keep an eye on her ally as he was committed to remaining on the Krael occupied planet to discover the weapon the aliens were creating to destroy humanity.
