Bracy's is a department store featured in "Space Precinct #4".
Overview[]
Bracy's is a store located in Demeter City on the planet Altor. In 2040, when humans became part of the galactic community, they introduced the holiday of Christmas. The store was owned by a human male named Mr. Bracy. However during the Christmas season, a robotic Santa Claus began to malfunction, thinking he was actually Father Christmas and began everything in the department store for free. After being told that Santa Claus was not real, the robot blew a fuse. The department store staff attempted to shut down the robot, causing Robot Santa Claus to go berserk and raid the Toy Department's Armoury and gate crash Mr. Bracy's Children's Tea Party. He proceeded to take the department store owner and several children hostage at Santa's Grotto.
Space Police Precinct 88 received a call on the situation. As everyone in the station was busy, Captain Rexton Podly and Slomo a RSA unit (Robot Secretarial Assistant) took the call. A Tarn store employee explained the situation to the captain and the serious danger the hostages were in. Slomo attempted to approach first but was nearly shot by the other robot. Podly then came alone and unarmed, and was treated to sight of human and alien children playing happily, totally unaware of the danger. An angry Mr. Bracy was present tied and whose neck was on a guillotine, demanding to be released, threatening to recycle the robot. Robot Santa Claus welcomed the captain to Santa's Grotto where everyday was Christmas, armed with a blaster gun. Podly talked to the robot, trying to diffuse the situation, though Robot Santa refused stating that Bracy and his staff were confusing him, claiming he was not the real Santa, that he was only hired help.
Podly told the robot not to listen to them, but instead listen to the children, who he asked who the robot was, which they all answered to be Santa Claus. The robot seeing what he was doing was wrong, surrendered his weapon to Podly apologizing that he lost his head. The robot then told the children to help themselves as it was Christmas, spreading his arms, though accidentally knocking the level for the guillotine above Bracy's neck. Luckily Podly used the blaster to shoot the blade, saving the store owner.
Mr. Bracy having recovered from almost being decapitated, tried to tell Podly to stop the children from taking everything as it would ruin him. Podly though was more interested in the blaster he used, noting that while it was supposed to be a toy it was quite lethal, bringing that the Standards Association would likely want to know about this. The Tarn employee tried to explain that the blaster was a prototype, but the excuse did not save him from Mr. Bracy who fired the Tarn. Before he could dispose of the robot, Podly informed the human that the public was watching, causing the man to change his attitude telling the news camera that the robot was the best Santa they had as he posed with his former captor.
