Trivia[]

  • The packaging for Big Kahuna Burger was created by Tarantino's old friend Jerry Martinez for the film Pulp Fiction.
  • The design of the red and white label-less fast food drink cup used in Tarantino's 1992 film Reservoir Dogs would later be re-used in Pulp Fiction as the official cup of Big Kahuna Burger and given the Big Kahuna logo. Subsequent interviews and media news articles would later retroactively treat Reservoir Dogs as the first official appearance of Big Kahuna Burger.
  • Since the name's use in films, some real restaurants have referenced it in either their name or that of a dish on their menu and there are many food trucks which have unofficially adopted the name.
  • There actually exists several Hawaiian burger restaurants such as Ohana Burger and there is also real Kahuna Burger restaurant in Long Branch, New Jersey and a Big Kahuna restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky, all of which serve burgers with pineapples in them.
  • The Big Kahuna Burger location seen in the From Dusk Till Dawn television series was actually converted from a Stallion Grill in Austin, Texas.
  • The Special Agent Utah meal from the From Dusk Till Dawn television series is an obvious reference to Keanu Reeves' character Johnny Utah from the 1991 crime drama film Point Break.
